As we come to the end of the first term of Summer, we showcase our innovative approaches to alternative education in our downloadable newsletter. Our Head of Education, Tara Jones, highlights how our philosophy creates more engaged and motivated learners by building curricula around students’ genuine interests and curiosities.
This term featured diverse hands-on learning experiences, including an ASDAN aromatherapy course where students created essential oils and learned massage techniques, and a comprehensive six-week cooking program focused on healthy eating and culinary skills. These workshops not only taught practical abilities but fostered confidence and independence among participants.
The organisation continues expanding its impact with new vocational courses in Health & Social Care and Hospitality for 16-18 year olds, launching this July. These programs combine classroom learning with practical industry experience while maintaining their person-centered approach. Additionally, growing demand has led to plans for opening a new location with enhanced indoor and outdoor learning spaces.

On the 6th May, we held our annual event with brilliant guests and insightful conversation around the world of progressive alterntiave provision. You can read more about what people said in our newletter. Looking ahead, Summer Term 2 will focus on essential financial literacy skills, teaching students budgeting, money management, and banking concepts through interactive workshops and real-world activities. The Greenhouse’s holistic approach demonstrates how relationship-based, rigorous education can transform young people’s lives and prepare them for future success.
