At Tutoring Plus, we understand that every student’s educational journey is unique. Our team of qualified teachers and support staff specialises in providing personalised education for students facing diverse challenges, whether they need short-term academic support, have complex needs, have experienced gaps in their education, or are in care.
Working alongside the HyFlex Academy, we create home learning tailored pathways that enable progression and success. Through comprehensive assessments and individualised curriculum planning, we build trust and consistency with each student, helping them bridge educational gaps, achieve qualifications, and develop sustainable academic pathways, regardless of their background or circumstances.
Leading support with trained staff
Tutoring plus is more than tutoring, as all of our staff are trained to work with children and young people with complex needs, in care and that have missed large proportion of schooling and are EOTAS.
1:1 Home learning
Our tutors will provide education on a 1:1 basis and be a consistent part of that students education journey, to avoid regression and change.
Goal setting
We aim to provide education for students that are not ready to learn outside of home due to their needs, need a progression plan in the short term to help re-engage into education and the young people that need help gaining qualifications for further education and career prospects that can't attend mainstream school.
Range of subjects covered
Our teachers cover a range of subjects, such as Maths, English, Movement and Wellbeing and Digital Skills. We provide education that is aligned with the national curriculum but also our adapted curriculum to cater for a range of student needs. We look at project based learning that can only be achieved with consistent staff that have knowledge of the student.
Introduction to education
Dependent on each individual's situation, we want to help progress the students and work with our HyFlex Academy to build reintegration, further learning and career prospects for each individual if and when ready.
Baseline assessment
It is extremely important to understand the level of education and readiness to learn of each individual, which is why Tutoring Plus and the HyFlex Academy work closely together to help establish a baseline for each individual. Without this, the education can not be effectively planned and prevent engaging in learning.
Education Pathway
No matter of the background and needs of a child/young person, education should not be sacrificed. This is why we have two pathways of education, dependent of the needs.
Tutoring Plus is aimed as a short term provision, to help individuals get the right form of education in the interim, but with the right teaching staff with the best tools. To encourage progression, we offer places at the HyFlex academy to promote more of a school environment, with a wider range of subjects and skill based lessons for all ages. The HyFlex approach means we can offer a number of different environments to help learn with 1:1, group and therapeutic settings.
